Microneedling

What is Microneedling?

Microneedling is a simple cosmetic procedure that uses needles to create minimal punctures in the skin, and it, through the healing process, helps treat skin concerns such as skin elasticity, scars, stretch marks, enlarged pores, wrinkles, and fine lines. It’s also commonly known as a collagen induction therapy since it’s able to facilitate collagen production. Microneedling isn’t invasive so recovery time is minimal with little to no downtime.

Microneedling can benefit you by:

How long is a microneedling procedure?
The whole procedure may take anywhere around 45 minutes to 1 hour and may require 4-6 treatments depending on the skin concerns.

How does the procedure work?
First, a numbing cream is applied on the face so that you won’t feel the needles as well as pain and irritation. Then, a tool with tiny needles and thin needles is used to go over the numb skin in a rolling motion in upward and downward strokes via tiny pricks to penetrate the skin.

The purpose is to provoke and take advantage of your healing process by delivering collagen and elastin to heal tiny injuries. Collagen helps to replenish and smooth out fine lines and wrinkles. You might be asked to stop taking certain medications, topical retinoids, and exfoliants a few days before the procedure as these can make your skin more sensitive.

Post the session, it’s best to wait for your skin to heal before applying any makeup. Your skin will be far more sensitive to the sun, so it’s imperative to apply sunscreen during the healing process. We recommend that you should wait at least one week before exposing your skin to sunlight and harsh cosmetic products. Some might experience mild pain or discomfort after the procedure, and the treatment area might be red for a few days. During the healing process, you might feel tight and a bit flaking on the skin. There’s usually no bleeding during the process but the skin may feel sore and sensitive. It is recommended to keep the skin clean and be gentle with it. Cleanse with only mild soap and lukewarm water for the first few days and avoid sunbathing, tanning beds, swimming pools, direct sunlight, and vigorous exercise until 72 hours after your session.

Mirconeedling (Radio Frequency) RF

We also offer microneedling with RF for those who are looking to visibly improve the texture of their skin whether it be acne scars, burn scars, or textured uneven skin. It is also a non-invasive treatment that penetrates the skin using radio frequency to improve the skin’s appearance to make it look smooth, firm, lifted, and help reduce wrinkling and sagging. Radiofrequency waves work to target and heat the skin to stimulate the natural collagen of the skin and heal itself to reveal smooth and tightened skin to emerge.

This procedure is safe for all skin tones. It is not advised if you are or have taken Accutane in the last 6 months, are pregnant or breastfeeding, have skin infections or are prone to scarring. Talk to us today for a consultation to see if Microneedling RF is right for you.
